Protea Animal Feeds
Protea Animal Feeds was formed in September 2003 through the consolidation of the animal feed businesses of Protea Chemicals (Pty) Ltd and Omnia Holdings Ltd.
Protea Animal Feeds is a national business, focussing on the supply of chemical raw materials to the animal feeds industry, with offices in Johannesburg (Head Office), Durban, Cape Town and Potchefstroom. Storage facilities are in Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Welkom.
The Offices and storage facilities for bulk and packed product in Durban gives Protea Animal Feeds good control of all incoming shipments. The bulk storage facility and the bagging unit are flexible in that various pack sizes are offered to meet customer’s requirements
In addition, Protea Animal Feed’s long relationship with Omnia Fertilizer, which manufactures the specialised phosphates used in animal nutrition, has been turned to significant marketing advantage as Omnia manufactures, bags and stores product for Protea Animal Feeds at its factories in Rustenburg and Sasolburg.
Protea Animal Feed’s core focus is the supply of feed-grade phosphates and nitrogen products to the feed industry. Omnia is one of only two defluorinated phosphoric acid producers. Protea Animal Feeds are therefore in a strong position to assure both quality and availability of their range of animal feed phosphates
Protea Animal Feeds also supplies a full range of supplementary additives to the Pre-Mix sector of the feeds industry.
